Betta Smaragdina
ปลากัดอีสาน เป็นปลาน้ำจืดขนาดเล็ก มีชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์ว่า Betta smaragdina อยู่ในวงศ์ Macropodinae ซึ่งอยู่ในวงศ์ใหญ่ Osphronemidae มีรูปร่างและพฤติกรรมคล้ายปลากัดภาคกลาง (B. splendens) แต่มีรูปร่างที่เพรียวยาวกว่า เกล็ดมีสีเขียวมากกว่าทั้งที่ข้างแก้มและลำตัว ในบางตัวอาจมีเหลือบสีฟ้า ครีบมีสีเขียวหรือฟ้าและมีลายประสีดำ
พบในแหล่งน้ำตื้นที่นิ่งและไหลเอื่อย ๆ ในพื้นที่ภาคอีสานของประเทศไทย ขนาดโตเต็มที่ประมาณ 5 เซนติเมตร
