Welcome dear visitors and customers.
This section is all about getting to know your betta seller, which is me, Miss Sasamon Kemtassee (Moo).
I have been selectively breeding the finest quality betta for my valuable costumers since 2003. How did I become a betta breeder and seller? It all began in 2003. I was bored with my routine work and started to search for interesting jobs which would suit my personality better. Time passed until one day while walking at Chatuchak market shopping centre (where many pets are sold here), I saw a lot of aquarium booths. There were many different fishes in each booth but none of them caught my interest until I saw the exotic and beautiful betta specie! These bettas were not just common bettas rather they were amazing, gorgeous, and very colorful. They turned my head up-side-down. I never knew such magnificent creatures like these betas existed in front of my two eyes. “Betta” to me meant a native fish which was used for gambling. Out of my curiosity, I walked towards a couple sellers in the booths and inquired how these betas were bred. I wanted to know the secrets or methods these sellers used. However, most of the responses I received were not very helpful. They only promoted their sales by saying, “these betas were bred directly from my farm”, “This betta is very nice!”, “This betta is very outstanding and excellent!”, and “Please get one before they are all gone”. I was not satisfied with their responses but that did not deter me from trying to get information.
What bothered me the most was the price of the betas. One of the betta which I was really interested in buying was 5,000 baht ($165 US dollars)! I was like wow! Why didn’t you just rob me? However the seller explained to me that the betta won the award of betta’s contest. I think it was a halfmoon betta (HM betta). I walked out from the booth and tried to look for a better booth which would give me better price. At the end of the day, I came home with a betta’s handbook and two halfmoon plaket betta (HMPK betta), one male and one female. I said to myself that, if no one was willing to share their knowledge or teach me, I would learn and study by myself! From that day onwards, I had set my goal. I wanted to become a betta breeder and seller.
I was ready to open my own aquarium shop on the 31th of December 2005. I was so delighted with my new shop and excited in dealing and selling my bettas to new customers. Since it was New Year, many costumers kept walking in and brought betta(s) home. Unfortunately, after three or four days, I no longer had customers. I just realized that I was the only betta seller in an entire street where my shop was located. All aquarium shops except mine sold carps (koi)! I had made a very bad decision to open my shop here, but I never gave up. I continued trying to get attention from pedestrians but it was no use. A few months later, which honestly felt like a year, I moved my shop to a new location.
My new location was a bit better because it was previously a betta shop. I was able to sell more bettas but it was not enough to pay off all the money I had invested. I continued breeding bettas, hoping that I would be successful some day. I gained more valuable experiences as time passed and I sold more bettas. Eventually my initial investment was paid back and I started making profits! I now have a stable and reliable aquarium shop located in Bangkok. I also have a job which I am truly happy with. I am now a truly betta breeder!
Everything seemed to go well but I still wanted to share my fine qaulity betta with more people. That is whenI heard about Aquabid and decided to try it. I knew my English was not good but I wanted to try new things and to learn from it. I finally decided to post a few bettas under my username “MooMooBetta”. I trusted my bettas’ quality and I was right, not surprisingly, my first betta, super red HKPK was sold as well as other ones!
Today I am happy with my work. I am proud of being a good betta breeder. I am always here to provide customers with the finest quality bettas.
Thank you for reading J
